Objective
The aim of the modules proposed is to make student understand, through a historical and artistic course, the importance of the clay as a tool for telling and representing how our ancestor lived, accompanying the human being to the present day.
The workshop is divided into two modules:
1) GREEK VASE
Theoretical part
The aim of the first module is to let the student to understand how Greeks used the clay and its importance in the cultural and socio-economic fabric of Greek civilization.
Practical part
Students will be involved in the realization of a Colombino technique.
2) THEATER MASKS
Theoretical part
The aim of the second module is to reproduce a theater mask through the sculpture and low-relief technique.
Practical part
The students can paint the mask created with decoration and typical color of the time. The decoration will be fixed with a particular cold technique. The modules are made by three meetings of two hours each.
Each module takes place in 3 meetings lasting 2 hours each.

Objective
Promote learning by doing, stimulate creative design through discover, playing the manual skills, knowledge and creativity, acquire individual style; promote a socio-relational development through the material sharing.
The workshop is divided into two modules:
1: LOW-RELIEF
Theoretical part
The aim of this module is to realize a work, that every student has chosen, through the reading and analyzing various documents.
Practical part
The student will try to boiled a clay panel with the low-relief technique.
2: LOW-RELIEF AND MOSAIC
Theoretical part
The aim of the second module is to involve the class to the reproduction, on ceramic slabs, of one of the most famous works.
Practical part
Students will work in a group and will organize the work assembling small pieces of colored glass, stone and other material to create a mosaic of the work chosen.

Objective
Develop certain aspect of the medieval life, focusing on the castle and library.
Theoretical part
Through a video-projection – focusing on different methods of approach, depending on the needs of the class – we will study the management of scriptorium such as work organization, organization of the tasks, transformation and manipulation of raw materials.
Practical part
Realization of a miniated painting, reconstructing the phases and painting technique, using the different materials and tools of that period.

Objective
Understand the evolution of funeral rites in history. Know the human approach to rites of passage from life to death over the centuries. Know the funeral equipment and the technique of burial, mummification, incineration of each civilization.
Theoretical part
Through a video-projection, will be provided an overview of the various typology of funeral rites from the elaborated techniques used for Egyptian natural mummification that happened thanks to the perfect climate conditions and the incineration rituals of the Etruscan Age, to the inhumation of the roman and medieval period.
Special attention will be paid to the burials found in the Valdera area and to the archaeological items in the museum.
Practical part
Reconstruction of a burial or of a funerary equipment belonging to the civilization chosen. (Depending on the teachers’ requests, it will be possible to focus on a particular historic period).

Objective
Analyze the history aspects already studied at school through the finds displayed in the Museum, in particular coins and their iconographic features.
Theoretical part
The itinerary shall pay particular attention to coinage, an element of a wide everyday use. The students will watch a brief video-projection to analyze various aspects of ancient daily life, focusing on the coin circulation and its aspect.
In the museum they will complete their knowledge acquired by observing the coin aspects and the iconography of the ‘Fornacette closet’; in addition to other types of coins coming from archeological finds in Valdera.
Practical part
Individual reproduction and decoration of a coin by using an easy workable material.
