Zoological Museum
The museum is located on the ground floor of the eighteenth-century Villa Baciocchi.
The exhibition is divided into five rooms in which taxidermized animals are exposed: feline, mammal, invertebrate, bird, reptile and fish from all over the world. The Museum, even though is constantly evolving, shows nowadays more than 400 magnificent fauna specimens from all corners of the earth.
The collection comprises also the birds’ collection, purchased in 2000, with some birds’ specimens of 19th century and a species of butterfly. Some of our areas offer diorama reconstructions of the environment where tigers, lions and bears are exposed.
